Ernest BoatengGlobal Media Alliance (GMA) one of Ghana's top Public Relations (PR) and Media consultancies, has been adjudged the best West African PR Consultancy Company, at this year’s African Brand Awards held in Nigeria on Thursday 25th October 2018.

The African Brand Awards was designed to promote excellence, creativity, and innovation among Brands and Brand Professionals in Africa.

Commenting on the Award, Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance, Mr. Ernest Boateng, expressed delight that the Communications Company has been recognized as a key player regionally.
He noted that “the award simply attests to the company’s resolve, which is to always give the very best to our clients by always providing excellent services to help them grow their brands. This is a testimony to that resolve,”. He added that “This is clear evidence that Global Media Alliance is living true to its mission to positively impact and effect changes within our community and also creates value for our clients and shareholders,”
He explained that the awards reinforce the fact that Ghana has a strong human resource base that is able to attain the heights of the international public relations industry as well as other fields of endeavor.

“We will continue to work hard to satisfy the needs of our clients to project and improve their image in the eyes of all stakeholders, and towards national development,” he said.

Global Media Alliance (GMA), has been adjudged the Best Agency in Internal Communications at this year’s Golden World Awards organized by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) in Barcelona, Spain over the weekend.

GMA beat over 29 other international PR agencies to win the much sought-after award. The event witnessed winners from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, Middle-East and Pacific.

GMA’s recognition was based on the use of innovative ideas through its subsidiary, YFM,the number one urban radio station in Ghana to champion a creative internal communication campaign dubbed #YVENGERS that effectively engaged personnel across the company.

YFM, the award winning radio station wanted to strengthen the team bond and spark some excitement between DJ’s, Presenters, Technicians and Management among others with the #YVENGERS Campaign. The campaign was initiated a week to the premier of the the Avengers Infinity War Movie to target staff and patrons of YFM on social media where artworks of most employees of the company were designed to depict a character from the Avenger Movie franchise.

The #YVENGERS campaign engaged over 4,000 young Ghanaians on Twitter who found the artwork interesting and continued to talk about it after the campaign. #YVENGERS was number one on the trend list for the first week and among the top five during the second week.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance, Mr. Ernest Boateng, who received the award in Barcelona on Friday 19th October said, “the award which was made possible by our innovative staff, is another achievement in the journey of this company. Team bonding among the staff of GMA has also contributed to our great journey. GMA promotes such qualities through fun filled campaigns and being recognized internationally for this, makes us all proud to be a part of the GMA family.”

Mr. Boateng dedicated the award to all staff of the company for their contributions in growing the company. GMA has over the years been recognized both locally and internationally, for its outstanding contribution in the PR and Media industry.

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout (FES), was adjudged Product of the Year and Beer of the Year while Manufacturer of the year went to Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Fruit Juice of the year went to Blue Skies and Energy Drink of the year was swept by Storm Energy.

GBA is an awards scheme which aims at honoring excelling beverage stakeholders in Ghana for their contribution to the country’s economy.

The CEO of Global Media Alliance, Mr. Ernest Boateng, said while delivering the closing remarks that, “It is evident that there are exciting times ahead for the Ghanaian Beverage industry and seeing what the key players are doing is a clear demonstration that there are good things in the pipeline. As a company, we see a very positive outlook in the coming years and we do want to assure all stakeholders that we are going to do all that is possible, working with you, to ensure our beverage brands have the International recognition”.

He also reiterated that GIPC is working tirelessly to make Ghana the best place for investment in Africa.

Activities at the event included a spectacular jazz performance by Mister Okyere.

Organised by Global Media Alliance, the second edition was themed “Inspiring Excellence in the Ghana Beverage Industry”.

Global Media Alliance collaborated with recognized institutions such as the Food Research Institute (FRI) under CSIR, Consumer Protection Agency (CPA), Food and Beverage Association of Ghana (FABAG) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).

The event brought together different stakeholders in the Beverage industry.

King Promise performing at MMC LIVE 2018

World-renowned Magician and Illusionist, Larry Soffer, together with award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Samini, and others over the weekend thrilled hundreds of patrons at this year’s Music Magic and Comedy (MMC LIVE) Show in Accra.

It was indeed a night filled with excitement and laughter where patrons experienced the atmosphere of unified entertainment segments- music, magic and comedy all on one stage on one night, with a focus of promoting great talents in the entertainment industry.

The event witnessed a huge audience especially the youth, who had the opportunity to appreciate different entertainment skills. It was also a relaxation moment for all who were present.

The audience went wild with performances by DKB and Jacinta, who entertained the audience with rib-cracking jokes to the amusement of patrons. Their hilarious jokes excited patrons as they couldn’t sit but ask for more.  

The Magician, Larry Soffer, with his skills amazed and inspired his audience to ‘Believe to See’ instead of ‘Seeing to Believe.’ In so doing, he encouraged the audience to open their minds to new possibilities by believing in the impossible and, thereby creating their own dreams.

The audience were wowed with his magic moves like mind reading and mind illusions - he read people's minds and made someone read his mind (He did 4 types of this), breaking of a glass and a blindfold knife and balloon act.

For his part, King Promise, took the stage and treated patrons with enthralling performance. He performed songs like ‘Oh Yeah’, ‘Selfish’ among others which saw patrons sing along with him.

To climax the show, Samini, also tagged as the King of Live Band took over the stage and treated patrons with back to back hit songs. He performed songs like ‘Linda’, ‘Where My Baby Dey’, ‘Sweet Mistake’, ‘Samini’, and ‘My Own’ among others.

Other performances from Ghana’s favorite Patapaa (One Corner), Waris, a young talented Comedian, Mizter Otchere, a Saxophonist and Jahlead, an upcoming musician, who also had their time on stage to showcase their talents.

Not only did patrons have fun with music, magic, and comedy, but also witnessed the launch of the new Huawei Y7 Prime 2018. Lucky patrons won amazing souvenirs like mobile phones, branded water bottles and headsets from Huawei Ghana.

Filled with so much pleasure, Joyce Amoah, a patron, expressed her excitement after the event saying “It was indeed an enjoyable night. My friends and I really had fun and wish this event is organized every month. We look forward to more next year and we won’t miss it for anything”.
