ACCRA, GHANA: Global Media Alliance (GMA) is recognized for excellence regarding positively impacting Ghana’s broadcasting landscape.

On Saturday, August 27th, the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) held its 21st Awards ceremony and saluted GMA with an Honorary Award connected to its broadcasting efforts. The honor specifically highlights GMA’s broadcasting sector, GMABC. The broadcasting arm was awarded for providing variety to Ghana’s broadcasting landscape through Happy FM, YFM, and its television channel e.TV.  The distinguished award touted GMABC’s efforts in contributing to media development in Ghana by expanding the frontiers of free expression, providing employment opportunities in broadcast journalism and more.

            “This honor further affirms GMA/GMABC’s mission to positively impact and effect change throughout Ghana and improve the welfare of the people with whom we carry out our mission. For us, this is not a job but a service above self,” said Ernest Boateng, CEO of Global Media Alliance.

VA blogACCRA, Ghana –Inspiring, focused and empowering, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Ghana, Yolanda Zoleka Cuba made a courtesy visit, on Monday, July 4th, to the management and staff of Global Media Alliance (GMA). More than 50 GMA employees welcomed Ms. Cuba as she toured GMA’s headquarters, visiting various departments ranging from digital services to creative designs.

GMA is a leading integrated international communications company with more than 18 years of experience and expertise. The Accra-based company has provided public relations services to Vodafone for more than six years.

Ms. Cuba’s visit aimed at formally introducing herself and the executive members of her staff to the GMA team, as well as enhancing the business relationship that exists between the two companies.

The Vodafone CEO commended GMA for helping the telecom giant achieve massive milestones since they became partners.

GMA’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Edward Boateng addressed the Vodafone team, reiterating GMA’s commitment to ensure that Vodafone Ghana remains a top of the mind brand in Ghana’s telecom industry.

Global Media Alliance (GMA), an integrated Communications, Media & Entertainment Company, is organizing the Ghana Beverage Awards (GBA) to honour the efforts of the beverage industry in Ghana.

Over the years, the beverage industry has been central to the provision of refreshment and entertainment to the people of Ghana. In recognition of these efforts and in a bid to encourage the delivery of quality beverage products and services, Global Media Alliance is organising the Ghana Beverage Awards to celebrate excelling beverage brands. This platform will also afford industry stakeholders the opportunity to interact with each other and boost marketing and sales of beverages in Ghana.

The awards will be the first of its kind in Ghana. It is anticipated to attract all stakeholders in the beverage industry in Ghana. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Inspiring excellence in the beverage industry in Ghana.”

Speaking on the Ghana Beverage Awards, the Director of Global Media Alliance, Mr Edwin Amankwah said “The beverage industry is very instrumental in the continued success of Ghana’s economy. As a huge revenue generating industry, it supports the country in employment creation, service delivery and more”. “Due to this previously unheralded fact, GMA finds it necessary to honour beverage producers for their service to the nation”, he added.

GMA will launch the Ghana Beverage Awards on the Thursday, the 28th of April, 2016 live on Accra-based TV and radio stations, ETV and Citi FM respectively.
There will be a public announcement on the call for entries and registration in due course. Beverage producers are hereby encouraged to participate in this event to celebrate Ghana’s thriving beverage industry.

Global Media Alliance, in partnership with the China Europe International Business School has launched the “Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment Management”- the first of its kind in Africa- to equip professionals working in all areas of the media and entertainment industries with practical skills to match new trends emerging in both industries.

The program aims at grooming these practitioners, and equipping them with strong management, leadership and relevant business tools and skills to attain excellence in their various fields of endeavors in the ever-changing world of media and business.

Professor Mathew Tsamenyi, programs Director of CEIBS noted at the launch that “We are in an ever changing competitive environment where the media organizations need to get and understand current management practice. This program seeks to develop competencies and skills of their employees and management to propel them to the next level.

Professor Tsamenyi called on companies to sponsor their employees. He said “I will urge companies to sponsor their employees because this is an investment which will yield great returns for them. The structure of the program will develop competencies in different areas and will help put these organizations ahead of their competitors.”

Mrs. Rosemond Aryeetey, Head of Corporate Communications at Global Media Alliance said “This program has been designed to fill a gaping void, as it is specifically designed to address the unique challenges media executives face in their day to day working lives, and proffer collaborative solutions that blends leadership and management principles with the realities of a super dynamic media environment.”
She added that ‘This speed of advancement, naturally, calls for media executives to upgrade their knowledge and skills to remain relevant and stay abreast or ahead of the phenomenal changes we are witnessing”.

Declaring the launch of the program, Mr. Nana Essilfie Conduah, a representative of the National Media Commission announced their endorsement and support for the Advanced Leadership Program.

The first of the 3 module program will take place from 23rd April to 25th April. The module will focus on Media Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Service Marketing. The second module, “Leading people and Organizations” will begin from August 27 and end on August 29th while the final module, “Media Management Strategy” will span from November 26 to November 28.

Edward Boateng 2On Friday; Sept 20th, Mr. Edward Boateng, Chairman of the Global Media Alliance Group became Africa’s top Business Leader when he won the much coveted Business Leader of the Year award. The event; The African Business Awards 2013 was organized by African Business Magazine in New York. Mr. Boateng could not make it to the event due to some circumstances so Mr. Charles Nimmo Ntiamoah Mensah aka Mr. CNN(CEO/Publisher, 3G Media received the award in his honor. Mr. CNN thanked the organizers for the award on behalf of Mr. Boateng. Mr. CNN is also a Senior Adviser to Global Media Alliance and also to Mr. Boateng.
