e.tv Ghana in partnership with Japan Motors has launched the 4th edition of their annual 5km Corporate Run and Walk. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 20 at the Silver Star Tower in Accra at 6:00 am (G.O.T).

The event is aimed at bringing corporate institutions in Ghana together to promote health and networking through team-building and physical activities.

According to Mr. Ernest Arday, General Manager of e.TV Ghana “The main aim of the annual 5km Corporate Run is to provide a better platform for corporate officials to interact and socialize while engaging in healthy activities”.

Most Ghanaian Corporate Officers are not able to make time for such activities because of tight schedules and demanding jobs. We therefore hold this event annually to give them the opportunity to keep fit and stay healthy.

Registration is open to all corporate institutions and individuals interested in participating in the run.

Hilda Peasah, Marketing Manager of Japan Motors noted that “Our collaboration with e.TV Ghana works perfectly because the two companies share a common objective to promote healthy lifestyle through healthy activities while creating a unique platform for all corporate bodies to network and interact outside business settings”.

This is the 4th time we are organizing the Corporate Run with e.TV Ghana and we are hopeful to see an increase in the number of corporate bodies and individuals this year. We hope to have 400 participants.

I urge corporate institutions and all who wanted but did not get the chance to participate last year to join us this year for a wonderful healthy experience.

The 5KM run will start at 6:00 AM at the Silver Star Tower, through to 37, past the Airport Roundabout and back to the Silver Star Tower.

Other activities to be held on the day include an exhibition, an awards ceremony, and medical screening. 
We have interesting prizes this year including three (3) Yamaha Gensets and a Yamaha motorcycle for the fastest corporate team.

We also have free breakfast for all participants and a unique VIP Breakfast for networking among CEOs, MDs, and GMs for 50 cedis.Registration for single entry is 20 GHS while corporate entry (for a team of 5 members) is 50 GHS. Registration centers include e.tv Ghana at Asylum Down and Japan Motors at Graphic road and Silver Star Tower, Airport City.

GFA, Ministry of Sports Commend Happy FM

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports have commended Happy FM, the multiple award winning sports station, for their support in keeping the momentum and the spirit of the 2014 world cup season alive in Ghana.

The two institutions represented by their respected heads Mr. Kwasi Nyantekyi and Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah made the remarks when Happy FM’s World Cup Ambassador and morning sports show host, Charles Osei Asibey paid a courtesy call on them in the company of staff of the station.

“The Ambassador’s tour is a good campaign that needs the support of all of us. This effort of Global Media Alliance and Happy FM is highly commendable...it will help bring all Ghanaians together in support and prayer for the Black Stars. The effort of the Ambassador will help to bring a lot of attention to the world cup”, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the GFA noted.

Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Minister of Sports expressed hope in Happy FM’s Ambassadorial role in raising the interest high in Ghana. He said, “The preparation for the World Cup picked up slowly and there were a few hiccups, but I believe with your coming on board, with Global Media Alliance, Happy FM and all of us working together, we will now raise the momentum to another level”.

Expressing his gratitude to the GFA and the Ministry of Sports, Charles Osei Asibey, Global Media Alliance’s World Cup Ambassador and Happy FM’s morning Sports show host noted that “We are thankful to the GFA and the Ministry of sports for admiring our efforts. Global Media Alliance and its broadcasting units including Happy FM are committed to supporting the Ghana Black Stars in their bid to make history in Brazil 2014 in our own unique way”.

The World Cup Ambassador will be visiting Corporate Ghana, Civil Society Organizations, Religious and Traditional Groups as well as Public Officials to seek their support and prayers on behalf of the team.  He would also encourage the symbolic gesture of placing Ghana flags in their homes, cars, offices and other places of work and entertainment.


As the 20th FIFA World Cup fast approaches, Global Media Alliance’s broadcasting units are giving viewers and listeners a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting and rewarding competition on their stations, dubbed the SAMBA Trivia.

Meanwhile, e.TV Ghana, as a member of the Ghana TV consortium, will broadcast the FIFA World Cup Live in June. The Ghana TV Consortium is made up of 6 television stations which include e.TV, GTV, Metro TV, GTV Sports, Net 2 Television, and First Digital TV.


Most Rev. Dr. Charles Agyin Asare, the Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International has commended Silverbird Cinemas for bringing world class cinematic experience to Ghanaians.

The Bishop gave the pleasant remarks during his first visit with his family to the newly opened 3D Silverbird branch located at Functions Ghana, Weija.  

Rev. Agyin Asare with his family enjoyed an exclusive showing of the 2014, epic biblically inspired film, ‘Noah’ and “Pompeii”, a German-Canadian historical Disaster film in 3D.

 “I have had the opportunity to see a number of movies in the states and in the UK and my experience here at Silverbird is just like being in Europe and America.

When I heard there was 3D here, I said well, will it be the same? Amazingly, it is! I think that Silverbird brings the movie experience that makes you feel like you are part of the action. With 3D, they bring you in what is happening”, the Bishop said.

Commenting on his impression about the movie ‘Noah’ and its traces to the biblical account, the Man of God clearly pointed out that the movie, though, has some credible information that conform with the account in the bible, some of the messages in the film cannot be traced in the bible.

“I thought it would be just like the biblical story but after the showing, I think they took some things from the bible and created things that were not there. May be they wanted to tell the story in their own way, so they did.

One thing that comes strongly to me is that for quite a while, people will be talking about it because, there will be a debate as to whether it is the true account or it is not and that for me is healthy. 

This is my first experience since Silverbird and I have had a wonderful experience with what they have here. I know ‘Noah’ just came out and for us to have it in Ghana is amazing. The quality is so original, he concluded.

Global Media Alliance, in partnership with the China Europe International Business School has launched the “Advanced Leadership Program in Media and Entertainment Management”- the first of its kind in Africa- to equip professionals working in all areas of the media and entertainment industries with practical skills to match new trends emerging in both industries.

The program aims at grooming these practitioners, and equipping them with strong management, leadership and relevant business tools and skills to attain excellence in their various fields of endeavors in the ever-changing world of media and business.

Professor Mathew Tsamenyi, programs Director of CEIBS noted at the launch that “We are in an ever changing competitive environment where the media organizations need to get and understand current management practice. This program seeks to develop competencies and skills of their employees and management to propel them to the next level.

Professor Tsamenyi called on companies to sponsor their employees. He said “I will urge companies to sponsor their employees because this is an investment which will yield great returns for them. The structure of the program will develop competencies in different areas and will help put these organizations ahead of their competitors.”

Mrs. Rosemond Aryeetey, Head of Corporate Communications at Global Media Alliance said “This program has been designed to fill a gaping void, as it is specifically designed to address the unique challenges media executives face in their day to day working lives, and proffer collaborative solutions that blends leadership and management principles with the realities of a super dynamic media environment.” She added that ‘This speed of advancement, naturally, calls for media executives to upgrade their knowledge and skills to remain relevant and stay abreast or ahead of the phenomenal changes we are witnessing”.

Declaring the launch of the program, Mr. Nana Essilfie Conduh, a representative of the National Media Commission announced their endorsement and support for the Advanced Leadership Program.

The first of the 3 module program will take place from 23rd April to 25th April. The module will focus on Media Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Service Marketing. The second module, “Leading people and Organizations” will begin from August 27 and end on August 29th while the final module, “Media Management Strategy” will span from November 26 to November 28.
