Ernest joined GMA from Opportunity International, a financial services firm serving micro entrepreneurs, where he was the Chief Operating Officer with the responsibility of driving growth and managing all the front line businesses. Under his leadership, the firm more than doubled its banking branches and clientele, and more than tripled its loan portfolio. Outside Ghana, Ernest held the position of Director with MasterCard International in the USA with the responsibility for international business development in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. He has also held management positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, Deutsche Bank and HSBC in the UK, Mexico, Hong Kong and South Africa. Ernest holds an MBA in Finance and International Management Strategies from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics and Philosophy from Dartmouth College.

Chief Operations Officer

Edwin Amankwah is a Director in charge of the Global Media Alliance Business Unit comprising Public Relations, Events Management and Creative Designs and Productions. Before his current role, Edwin was the Head of Events for GMA. He led the team that is responsible for planning, coordinating and organizing events for clients including CAN 2008 Opening and Closing Ceremony, CNN African Journalist of the Year Awards, Fidelity Go for Gold campaign, Tullow, Olam Wheat Mills Launch, Ecobank Launch, AGRA launch among others. He is noted for his assertive leadership skills as well as his unique expertise in marketing communications, Public & Media Relations Strategies as well as the development and implementation of world class events and brand activation concepts. Prior to joining Global Media Alliance, Edwin worked as Business Development and Management Consultant for local organizations and businesses in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. In addition to other professional certificates, Edwin holds an MBA in Marketing from Tulane University, USA.

Emma works as the Director of GMA. Together with her team, they currently manage the HR processes for over 300 staff members across 7 business entities. She joined the HR Department at GMA in May of 2010. Prior to her joining GMA, she was working at Nairobi Stock Exchange as a Public Relations Officer. Apart from her PR role, she was also the Assistant Editor to the NSE quarterly magazine, The Exchange. Emma also has experience in the Media Industry in Kenya where she worked as a Marketing Executive for Nation Media Group, one of the country’s top media houses. She is passionate about people psychology and people development hence her love for working in Human Resource. She has had a chance of working with young people, in coaching and mentoring as well as being involved in their direct training initiatives. Emma holds a Degree in French and Sociology from University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Master of Business Administration Degree in Human Resource Management from University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana.

Fafa Gbeho joined GMA as the Head of Human Resource in February 2017. Together with her team, she manages the HR processes of over 300 staff members across 7 business entities of GMA Group. Fafa brings a lot of experience to bear, owing to her participation in various trainings and workshops on security, procurement and project management, and HR work experience across various sectors. Fafa is an Alumnus of the University of Ghana (UG) for her first degree where she graduated with honours in Political Science and Russian language. She took advantage of the year abroad programme and studied Russian Language proficiency at the Pushkin Institute of Russian Language, Moscow for a year. She is also a graduate of the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy where she was awarded a Master of Arts Degree in International Affairs. As an old student of Achmota School where she studied Agricultural Science, Fafa is currently the President of the 1997 Year Group of the Old Achimotan Association (OAA). She is passionate about helping others, exhibiting fairness and empowering others to achieve significant strides in all they do. Fafa is a mother. Her hobbies include swimming, playing volley ball and writing.

Head of Business Development

Martin Ankrah is the Head of Business Development for Global Media Alliance. His department sees to the development of events, marketing and communications strategies for clients’ engagement. The department is also responsible for assessing the health of the various Business Units and developing strategies for growth. Martin has led the execution of several key projects including the Naming Ceremonies of two of Ghana’s FPSO vessels in Singapore, Ceremonies marking First Oil from the TEN Fields of Ghana, first ever nationwide Reading Festival across Ghana and UKAID Funded Agribusiness Forum and Exhibition on the investment opportunities in Northern Ghana among others. Prior to joining Global Media Alliance, Martin worked with Intercom Programming and Manufacturing Company (IPMC) in Accra, Ghana as a Marketing Executive and also with JCL Ghana Limited as a Sales Director where he was in charge of development and implementation of marketing research as well as marketing communications and sales strategies respectively. Martin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana and an MBA in Finance from Central Business School of Central University.

Abrefa Busia is currently Head of Creative and Brands at Global Media Alliance He has over 10 years of experience in Advertising and Marketing, having served in various positions with some of the top flying media firms in the country. He started with Akroma Productions Ltd, an affiliate of Young and Rubicam Worldwide, as a Graphic Designer working for clients such GCB, Glico, Kasapreko, NHIS, Presidential Special Initiative on Distance Learning and many more. He then proceeded to Goviral, a digital innovation company, as a Creative Visualizer, where he obtained great insight on social media tools. From there he joined Ogilvy and Mather Ghana one of the largest marketing communication companies in the world as an Art Director, where he over saw the production of compelling creative works for big firms such as Coca Cola, Airtel, Barclays Bank, UMB Bank, KFC, ABL, Old Mutual Life Assurance, Mondelez International, Bajaj Auto Limited and many more. Abrefa Busia is a dynamic, driven and versatile personality whose determination to succeed in his line of work has earned him 2 prestigious Gold Awards for Outdoor and Print Category in the Gong Gong Awards organized by the Advertising Association of Ghana. Abrefa Kwesi Busia holds a degree in Journalism and Communications from the Trans Africa University College, Accra. Favorite quote is “Nothing is impossible”, a personal mantra responsible for his undying quest for success.

Nosisa was appointed to her current position in 2015. She is responsible for ensuring that the policies, procedures & business processes used at Global Media Alliance are linked to the success of the business strategy of the company. In her capacity she works with all levels of management, departments & some of the businesses GMA has invested in. With over 16 years in the broadcasting industry, Nosisa joined e.tv Ghana as the Quality Assurance Manager in 2012 responsible for setting up a quality management system for the station. She later became the Programmes Manager in 2013 with the mandate to ensure quality programming for viewers. She acted as General Manager of the station from June to October 2013. Nosisa holds a BA in Media Studies from the Zimbabwe Open University, a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Christian College of Southern Africa, a Certificate in Sales Management, PR and Advertising from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industries and an Internal Auditor Certificate for ISO 9001.2000 Quality Management Systems.
